I've been requested by the show committee to send in a short writing about my painting that has been accepted into the Red River Watercolor Society national show. I'd like to share that with you now.
"After The Rain ~ Florence"
The skies darkened and the rains came the moment I arrived
in Florence. Not to be deterred I pulled
out my umbrella and headed into the beautiful, old, Italian streets.
The buildings had such beauty, such character, as the rain
washed over them. The colours, rich and warm, intrigued me. I turned a corner
and at the same moment I first saw the Duomo, the clouds parted and the sun
shone through creating the most dazzling light. The colourful marble walls and
sheer size mesmerized me but it was the reflections upon the old paving stones
that took my breath away.
